Hate to see season end this way...Some close battles for track championships in the points. Congrats to all the champions!!!

hi rob,,,, after looking at the season as it winds down and with school back in with friday football, we thought it would be best to just close the season
out... hopefully the economy will pick up and the crowds will increase for a better season next year in 2009..
we will still have our season championships awards banquet this year. we will honor the top 10 in the ump mods, super stocks, pure stocks, rookie of the year and sportsman in each class and the champions in the late models and crate late models... plus a few other surprise awards... we are currently finalizing all the details and i will post the date and location in the next couple weeks. i would like to thank all the racers, crews, fnas and track workers who supported us at ucs this year.... Tom,
Really appreciate your quick response. Also looking foward to the banquet. You told us from the day one it would happen and I knew you were a man of your word. Good luck to all for the rest of the year, and hope next season brings brighter things for everyone. tell you thanks for this season I didnt get to run there as much as i had planned due to motor issues and all but the few times I did it was a pleasure cause
you TOM are truly one of the very very few TOP NOTCH promoters that I have ever dealt with and would just like to tell you once again just like I do every time

poor decision closing this early...................... the main thing I saw that was better this year was track prep and scoring, but then it was always
at least an hour late getting the show started! would have been a great place to go if all the pieces of the puzzle would have been put together right. over
all (not bad) for the season.

Wake up and smell the coffee!!!!! Those of us who have been around here for a while also know that this year
the racing at UCS and the promotions have been alot better than the past. Some of you put Wick down for getting rid of the Late
Models.................isn't that what Billy did at the end of the year last year??? Wick brought them back. Billy also dropped the Bombers...........not
Wick. And lets talk purse................well I don't need to..........anyone who has raced there this year knows that the purses were better than they
have ever been at UCS. I'm not bashing Billy....but I'm getting tired of keeping my mouth shut when some of you have no idea of what's going on.
If you are a true racer.....you know that Wick is the fairest promoter you will ever come in contact with.....the car counts showed that each week. I want to
thank him and his crew for sticking the year out as long as they did. Alot of other promoters would not have. Do you think that any other promoter would be
having a banquet for his racers knowing he's not coming back? My hat's off to Wick for showing us some good racing this year and being behind us racer
110% this year. I know that I will be at the banquet!!

Tom and his family are fine people,always were, I know he tried hard but running a racetrack is a business and must show a profit or it will close forever.
Racing at that track is a hobby, the purse is nice but for 99.9% of us it`s never going to pay the bills and most would race for nothing but a trophy. I would
rather have the track open than have it closed by a great guy that pays very well.

dirtfinger, I guess you are one of a handful of racers.....if that is what you are....that would race for nothing. So you are saying that you would rather
see racing with small car counts, less competition.........YOU CALL THAT RACING. Like I said in my last post....not bashing Billy....but I think Wick had the
racers best interest in front of his own. So I guess in your eyes that makes him the bad guy....because he tried to be fair with us racers. Just curious are
you a fan or are you a racer? Hey I know what Wick should have done....instead of the 50/50 each week..........have a CARD GAME!!!!

There hasnt been that many street stocks runnin there on a weekly basis in the last 5 yrs. Say what you want but the reason it was bettter this year is because
of TOM and his payout ! If you dont think the payout matters you will see next year if TOM is not runnin the show

As bad as I hate to say it the weekly LM racing in Indiana is pretty much a thing in the past. Look at Brownstown if you dont believe it !

I have to put my 2 cents worth in I know a little late!! I would rather race than have a few extra bucks in my pocket at the end of the night. How many races
got cancelled this year cause he couldn't afford to run Hell I remember coming down on a sunday to get sent home cause of a low grandstand count. I would
have gave my purse to run that day but know one asked, I was out the gas anyway. So a few extra bucks or race every Friday thru September I pick race every
Friday. If he had the racers in mind we would race not be setting at home or having to drive to B F E to race.

latemodels and mods most likely would not run for no purse. To many chips on the table.
$$$ races do get attention. So does a DEALS like $5 pit passes(with a car only & # limit)
